Prairie Vista NAVHDA was formed to offer education, assistance and training opportunities for the Versatile Hunting Dog Owner(s) to develop their dog(s) natural hunting abilities.  We welcome anyone in the Western Provinces (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba) who are looking for a positive and fun training and testing environment.  We will facilitate positive training sessions and techniques for handlers and their dogs to help them reach their full potential as a team.  We will offer and hold official NAVHDA tests to aid in determining how a dog is progressing in their training and how the “team” measures against the NAVHDA international standard. Our club trains in Central Alberta near Sylvan Lake and in South Central Alberta near Calgary. Our methods have been proven with NAVHDA awarding several of our Breeders with the NAVHDA Breeders awards.

Prairie Vista NAVHDA is a club which is based upon support, cooperation, and friendship, not competition. Prairie Vista NAVHDA like all NAVHDA clubs operates with volunteers. Our members help out, we ask that all participants volunteer with whatever they can do during our training sessions.  There are many jobs that require little to no experience and there will be many people who would be happy to help instruct you in what is needed (Bird planting, setting up drags, bumper throwing, setting up/take down of equipment, shooting, etc.). During the training days participants learn many skills and are soon able to help pass those skills down in the future. At Prairie Vista NAVHDA, we hope that everyone will learn to train their own dog as well as help others learn to train theirs.
