Events cancelled April and May - COVID-19

Due to the current developments with the COVID-19 outbreak in Alberta, we have had to cancel all events through May 2020.  Please check back regularly or visit the facebook page for announcements for registration to our next event.

Test Registration

​Registrations are open for Members on the website for this years test.  We will open up entries to non members April 1st so get your entries in quickly - we expect to fill up quickly.

Test Registration Information


A reminder - the owner and handler of the dogs running in NAVHDA test must also be NAVHDA International members.  Please double check your registration numbers for your dogs and for yourself.  Incorrect information on the entry forms could credit another dog for your performance.  Please be careful and thorough!

Delia Loomis Certified Therapist will be back to recheck your pups or do new treatments for those interested.

There are a lot of us with experience to help you with your training questions and hurdles or just plain introduction to basic obedience! 

Bring: 
We suggest you bring the following items if you have them:
  • Chair
  • Drinking water for you and your dog
  • Crate/kennel for putting dog up
  • Check cord
  • Leash/lead
  • Bumpers/Dummies
  • Lunch or potluck item if participating
Other items you may want to bring to training: 
  • Other training aids you use (food, ball, tugs, place boards)
  • Bowls for Food or Energy Treats
  • Dog First Aid Kit
  • Snacks
  • Lunch or potluck item if participating/ plug ins but no use of oven or stove

From D’s Equine and Canine Therapy Doing talk and demo Chiropractic,acupressure,massage and stretches for hunting  Dogs.
Treatments for your dogs available after the demo at a  reduced price for Club members  of $35 per dog (regular price is $50).

Limited number of pigeons will be available for order on registration page.

Please come with an open mind, a willingness to learn, and your questions about the training. Get your year started off right, work on Obedience, Steadiness, Trained Retrieve or another skill you might want to work on. ​​

Natural Ability Test (NA)-  An Inside Look

A little test information:

This test is for dogs under 16 Months of age.

The video gives an overview of the four areas of the test.  It's a good watch.

We hope everyone had a successful hunting season.  We look forward to our new 2020 membership year.  You can begin signing up for your 2020 membership here.

We also want to announce our first indoor training session on January 25, 2020 at 9am.  Following training we will have a potluck lunch and a guest speaker talking about "Hunting Dog First Aid".  More details to come... (please sign up for the training day)

AGM - January 25, 2020 at 1:30 - 3:30pm 
Please attend as your participation is important to the club operation.  Each year we need volunteers.

The Jocelyn Maciborsky Memorial Fun Hunt 2019 was a great time for all participants.  Ron with Sky and Sue with Harper were the winners this year with 9 birds and 11 shots.  The runners up were Wayne with Teaka and Mary with Haven, 9 Birds and 16 shots.  The most efficient team was Cal with Stitch and Wayne with Loki, 7 birds with 7 shots! WOW!

​Thanks to everyone that came out to enjoy the day of fun and friendship.  Looking forward to seeing everyone in the new year.
